Our Mission

The Friends works to foster and support closer relationships among the Town of Brookline Department of Public Health and Human Services, health professionals, health-related institutions and interested members of the community in order to address issues that affect the health and well-being of Brookline residents, workers and visitors.

 

The Friends’ Mission is to:

  • Serve as a community voice for public health

  • Build a network of people who support public health & racial equity to reduce health disparities in Brookline

  • Recognize leaders and organizations in our community who have had a positive impact on public health

  • Provide mini grants for community members to enable them to turn their ideas into projects

  • Support public education about timely topics in public health

  • Support public health efforts to mitigate the health effects of climate change

The Friends of Brookline Public Health was created in 1997 to promote a local commitment to public health at the community level.
